How It All Started

I have always had a major soft spot for rabbits and small animals since I was a kid, but sadly, was never allowed to own one. I remember often talking on the phone with my Nan, trying to convince her to buy one for my birthday as a gift so my parents wouldn't be able to return it. Unfortunately, this plan didn’t work, but fast forward to now and my love for these animals could not be stronger. And I now have two very cute bunnies of my own, Bean and Luna.

How The Pampered Bun came together

The Pampered Bun started as I noticed two key issues that many rabbit and small animal owners face.

1.  There is a lot of misconception, misunderstanding and misinformation around how to care for these pets.

2.  There were no grooming or similar services specialised for small animals [and it can even be a huge struggle trying to find a vet who knows how to treat rabbits and other small animals].

So, with several years’ worth of rabbit ownership under my belt and experience in grooming them I decided to provide a convenient, high quality and personalised bunny grooming and sitting service to Canberra locals, to provide an option for them to get their bun pampered.

And not only do I groom bunnies, but I also want to advocate for them as well. Because there are so many bunnies out there that get taken into a home only later to be dumped when the owner realises how high maintenance a rabbit can be to care for. That is where I decided to partner with The Rabbit Sanctuary, who do great work in rescuing bunnies and finding them loving homes.

Rabbits and small animals need our voice to protect and advocate for them so they can have the best quality of life possible, and this is something I am invested in for many years to come.

Besides bunnies and small animals I’m obsessed with all things Disney and my favourite TV series of all time is Gilmore girls. I have a massive sweet tooth, and weakness for chocolate! I also have a strong aversion towards moths, you know those big dusty bogong moths?! Like, don’t even joke about it – I will run for the hills.

I am an old soul and have often been told I should have been born in the 60’s, and my favourite singer of all time is Elvis Presley. I love going to the Elvis festival held in Parkes.

When I’m not busy grooming bunnies, you can find me watching a movie on the couch with my husband or snuggling with my bunnies, spending quality time with family, or on Instagram!
